He could not find the folders either, not on my computer and not on my backup drive.Frequently Asked Questions- Q1.

the folders you create in Photos.īTW, I called their tech support number and had one of their techs use Linked In to rummage around on my computer to no avail. But just so you know, this app will potentially destroy all your organizational data, i.e. This is an issue that Apple needs to rectify. So be advised, having a backup or sequential backups of your Photo Library will not preserve the folders you create. I use Time Machine and had a couple years worth of Photo Libraries backed up to an external drive, but there are no organizational data stored in any of them, only the bulk photos. It will take a lot of work to redo the folders as best I can, but it will never be as good as it originally was. The pictures (in bulk) are still there, but all my hard organizational work is gone, and I’m not sure that I will be able to reconstruct it. This app removed all of these folders from Photos. I have around 6,000 travel photos I had organized into folders titled with place names and dates.

Well, it got rid of the duplicates, but it also deleted all the folders I had painstakingly created in Photos. I downloaded this app to get rid of duplicates in my Photo Library. I so wish I had just lived with the duplicates and never run this. I’d say this app is a disaster, and I’m not sure why it has 4.5 stars.

Check out the reviews for the pro version - seems like a scam they use to try to sell you “hardware improvements” once you allow them into your computer. No way would I give a stranger access to my computer.

The customer service (clearly a foreign-based phone bank - I could hardly hear because of the background chatter of other operators on other phones) wanted me to allow them to link into my computer to review “whether there is something wrong with my hard drive” or the software itself. Inexplicably, the date in the photo data itself (found via get info) has been changed. So some of my son’s birthday pictures which should be in, say, Feb 2015 are now scattered throughout 2015 so that I can’t find them all at once under the same date. The App went through my photos and changed the dates of some so that they no longer appear grouped by date when I select “Photos” from the iphoto left-hand menu.
